Also, filezilla is a multi-threaded ftp program in that it will open multiple sessions and upload files from a locally maintained queue, thus loading files much faster. Filezilla will automatically detect ascii or binary and upload the file properly. When you unzip files to windows and then ftp files to a unix server, often if you have opened any of the files, they will have embedded windows characters and they will not work if you have ftp'd them up to the server in ascii mode.
